Smart & Skilled (NSW)

Required Documents

Prospective students applying to undertake a Smart and Skilled approved qualification with Yalagan Registered Training must concurrently undertake the NSW Smart and Skilled Notification of Enrolment Process as follows including:

  • Yalagan Registered Training Student Enrolment Form

  • Smart and Skilled Integrated Subsidised Training Eligibility and Consent Form:

    • Program and qualification details
    • Eligibility criteria
    • Student Eligibility Declaration
    • Authorise Yalagan Registered Training and the Department to have appropriate access to USI records
    • Consent to Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
(If the prospective student does not provide their consent, YRT will not proceed with the Notification of Enrolment Process)
  • Provide two forms of ID such as:

    • NSW Driver’s License
    • Medicare card
    • Student ID
  • Prospective student has provided information that is true, accurate, and complete

  • Ensure a Notification of Enrolment process has not concurrently been completed for the same qualification and/or same units of competency for the same or other qualification(s)

  • In the event there is a Third-Party arrangement, the prospective student has been made aware prior to enrolment

  • Prospective student has been provided with the details of any Fee chargeable as per itemised fees generated by the Provider Calculator

  • Successful completion of the Notification of Enrolment process will result in the issue of a Commitment ID

How to Enrol:

All applicants that are being considered for a course must provide the following material to their desired RTO prior to course commencement:

  1. Submit a completed/signed Student Enrolment Form
  2. Submit evidence that you have met the published entry requirements for the course
  3. Submit essential support documents
  4. If required, undertake eligibility assessment and evidence submission for government funded or subsidised training
  5. Corporate workshops and soft skills applicants needs to fill up the short course enrolment form only

Applications:

All applicants seeking to enrol with Yalagan Registered Training are required by the RTO to submit acceptable evidence that they meet published entry criteria for their chosen course including:

  • Completed enrolment form with applicant signature

  • Driver licence, Photo ID, or current Australian Passport

  • Concession cards (where applicable)

  • Published entry requirements/pre-requisites (where applicable)

  • Please add completed Credit transfer form or RPL application form (if required)

Successful applicants will receive an Acceptance of Enrolment with course details, conditions of study, payment of tuition and other fees, orientation date. Unsuccessful applicants will receive formal notification that their application has been unsuccessful including the reason(s).

  • 15 years old or over?

  • No longer at school?

  • Living or working in NSW?

  • An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to all four questions, then you’re eligible to enrol in a smart and skilled funded training with YRT.

Yalagan Registered Training Smart and Skilled Courseware

NSW Smart and Skilled is the NSW Government program for vocational education and training which was originally established as a reform of the vocational education and training system giving people the chance to gain the skills they need to get a job or advance their career.

Smart and Skilled provides eligible students with an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III as well as government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas. Yalagan Registered Training is an Approved Smart and Skilled Provider and the chart below includes the list of approved qualifications that Yalagan Registered Training is approved to deliver under the following NSW Smart and Skilled Programs:
