Work as a Safety Observer/Spotter
This safety training course provides the skills and knowledge required to work safely as a safety observer/spotter in civil construction. It includes identifying and managing worksite hazards, establishing exclusion zones and observing work activities to monitor the safety of the work environment and applies to those working in operational roles under supervision.
Licensing, legislative and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors. Students must check requirements with relevant body to ensure it meets their requirements.
How to enrol in the class

This enrolment form needs to be completed and signed by the learner prior to class.
This enrolment form includes 3 Parts:
- Part 1: Personal Information
- Part 2: Your contact details
- Part 3: Required AVETMISS compliant information
Before you start, please make sure you have read YRT Student handbook, and have following documents ready:
- USI* (PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A USI, or go to usi.gov.au to obtain one first)
- any one of the following – you will need to upload a copy while completing this enrolment form
- Current Driving licence
- Current Photo ID with address on it
- Australian Passport and a document showing address

From 1 January 2015, YRT can be prevented from issuing you with a nationally recognised VET qualification or statement of attainment when you complete your course if you do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). In addition, we are required to include your USI in the data we submit to NCVER. If you have not yet obtained a USI you can apply for it directly at http://www.usi.gov.au/create-your-USI/ on computer or mobile device. Please note that if you would like to specify your gender as ‘other’ you will need to contact the USI Office for assistance.
