Description
Working at heights remains one of the highest risk activities across many industries. While the nationally recognised unit does not have an expiry date, many employers and work sites require workers to complete refresher training to demonstrate they remain competent and up to date with current safety practices.
This practical refresher course revisits the essential skills required to safely work at heights. You will refresh your knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, fall protection systems, personal protective equipment, safe access methods and emergency procedures while reinforcing industry best practice.
Training uses realistic workplace scenarios to build confidence using harnesses, lanyards, anchor points and other height safety equipment. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate safe work practices while receiving guidance from experienced trainers.
Completing this refresher course helps you stay work ready and meet the expectations of employers across mining, construction, rail, maintenance, utilities and infrastructure industries. It is an excellent way to maintain your skills and demonstrate your ongoing commitment to workplace safety.

Entry requirements (Accredited)
To make the most of your YRT Accredited course, it’s essential to have the following skills:
- This refresher course is intended for participants who have previously completed RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights or an equivalent nationally recognised Working at Heights unit and need to refresh their competency for workplace requirements.
- Licensing, legislative and certification requirements may vary between states, territories and industry sectors.
- Participants must provide a copy of their current or previously issued Statement of Attainment for Working at Heights or equivalent.
- Participants should have basic English language, literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to complete training and assessment activities.
- Participants must be physically capable of completing practical working at heights activities, including wearing a safety harness.
- Valid photo identification is required prior to training commencement.
- Participants must provide evidence of valid Australian work rights where required, such as Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, Visa or other approved identification documents.
