Description

Working in confined spaces presents unique risks that require specialist skills, knowledge and strict safety procedures. Many employers require workers to hold both confined space entry and gas testing competencies before they can work on site.

This practical course combines two nationally recognised units into one comprehensive program. You will learn how to prepare for confined space entry, follow permit systems, identify hazards, use personal protective equipment, monitor atmospheric conditions and safely enter, work in and exit confined spaces. You will also gain the skills to operate electronic gas testing equipment, interpret readings and respond appropriately to unsafe atmospheric conditions.

Training is delivered using realistic workplace scenarios, allowing you to build hands on experience with confined space equipment, gas detectors and workplace procedures. You will develop the practical skills needed to follow safety requirements, communicate effectively with standby personnel and contribute to a safe working environment.

Successful completion of this combined course enhances your employability across mining, construction, rail, utilities, maintenance, manufacturing and industrial sectors. These are highly sought after competencies that are commonly required for shutdown work, maintenance projects and many site based roles throughout Australia.
