Description

Safety is a key requirement across every workplace, particularly in transport, logistics, rail and infrastructure environments. Employers are looking for workers who understand how to recognise hazards, follow procedures and take responsibility for workplace safety.

In this practical course, you will learn how to identify workplace risks, apply control measures and follow established work health and safety procedures. You will gain an understanding of your responsibilities in maintaining a safe workplace while supporting the safety of those around you.

Training focuses on real workplace situations, helping you develop the confidence to respond appropriately to hazards, incidents and emergencies. You will also learn how to correctly use personal protective equipment, follow workplace instructions and complete safety related records and reporting requirements.

To make the most of your YRT Accredited course, it’s essential to have the following skills:

  • Participants should have basic English language, literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to complete training and assessment activities.
  • Participants must be physically capable of participating in practical training and assessment activities where required.
  • Valid photo identification is required prior to training commencement.
  • Participants must provide evidence of valid Australian work rights where required, such as Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, Visa or other approved identification documents.
  • Participants under 18 years of age may require parent or guardian consent.
