Description

This course gives learners the opportunity to develop foundation-level creative and technical skills that support visual arts and craft practice in real learning and community environments. You will explore how to communicate ideas through art, develop basic drawing and creative practice skills, and build your understanding of materials, processes and safe ways of working.

Training can support learners who are starting out in the creative industries, building confidence in their own artistic practice or preparing for further study and pathway opportunities. The qualification aligns to job outcomes such as Ceramics Studio Trainee, Community Arts Workshop Assistant and Arts Practitioner, while also creating a pathway into broader visual arts, craft and design roles.

  • Basic English literacy and numeracy.
  • Fundamental computer skills.
  • Access to a modern device with fast internet and video capabilities.
  • A Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure you're equipped with the essential skills to succeed in the course.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you'll have the tools and knowledge to confidently apply these key concepts in practice:

  • Develop basic creative and technical skills that underpin visual arts and craft practice.
  • Build confidence in drawing, making simple creative work, sourcing information for your own arts practice, and working safely.
  • Create a pathway toward further study or entry-level visual arts, craft and design roles.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive a national Accredited qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Australian Skills Quality Authority.
