Description

This unit focuses on real workplace conditions where confined space entry is required as part of day to day operations. You will learn how to identify confined spaces, understand hazards and follow correct procedures before entering any restricted area.

Training covers how to plan and prepare for entry, complete safety checks and use the correct equipment to reduce risk. You will also learn how to follow permit systems, communicate effectively with team members and respond to changing conditions while working inside confined spaces.

A strong focus is placed on practical safety skills including atmospheric testing, hazard awareness and safe entry and exit procedures. These skills are critical for ensuring you can complete tasks safely while protecting yourself and your work team.

On completion, you will be prepared to work in a range of industries including construction, resources, maintenance and infrastructure where confined space entry is required as part of essential site work.

Entry requirements (Accredited)

To make the most of your YRT Accredited course, it’s essential to have the following skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must provide valid photo identification such as passport or Australian driver licence
  • Must have a Unique Student Identifier for nationally recognised training
  • Must have sufficient English language, literacy and numeracy skills to follow safety instructions
  • Must be physically fit to safely complete practical training activities
