RIIRTM203E Work as a safety Observer/Spotter

This nationally recognised unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to work safely as a safety observer/spotter in civil construction and related operational environments. It includes planning and preparing to work safely, interpreting workplace instructions and safety documentation, identifying and managing hazards, establishing and maintaining exclusion and ‘no-go’ zones, using communication devices effectively and observing work activities to ensure the safety of personnel, plant and equipment. Participants will apply hazard control measures and follow WHS policies and workplace procedures to help maintain a safe work environment. The role is typically supervised and performed within a team, with responsibilities for contributing to safe work outcomes on site.
