Course Overview
Description
The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course incorporates three nationally recognised units of competency:
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
Important: Once enrolled, you'll receive access to your online theory assessment, which must be completed before attending your face-to-face practical session. The date you book is for your practical training and assessment only.
This course equips you with essential first aid skills to confidently respond to workplace incidents, injuries and medical emergencies. Through hands-on training and realistic scenarios, you'll learn CPR, emergency response procedures, casualty management and how to provide first aid until professional help arrives.
Upon successful completion of both components, you'll receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment covering all three units.
Course Content
Entry requirements (Accredited)
To make the most of your YRT Accredited course, it’s essential to have the following skills:
- Basic English literacy and numeracy.
- Fundamental computer skills.
- Access to a modern device with fast internet and video capabilities.
- A Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure you're equipped with the essential skills to succeed in the course.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you'll have the tools and knowledge to confidently apply these key concepts in practice:
- Respond to emergencies using the DRSABCD action plan and perform CPR confidently.
- Provide first aid for common injuries and medical conditions.
- Assess and manage emergency situations safely until medical assistance arrives.
Upon successful completion, the student will receive a national Accredited qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Australian Skills Quality Authority.
