Description
The MSMWHS217 Gas Test Atmospheres unit provides the practical skills and knowledge required to conduct gas testing in workplaces where hazardous atmospheres may exist. In environments such as confined spaces, shutdowns, processing plants and construction sites, atmospheric hazards can pose serious risks, and this training ensures you are prepared to identify and manage them.
You will learn how to use gas detection equipment correctly, interpret readings, identify flammable, toxic or oxygen-deficient atmospheres, and take appropriate action in line with WHS legislation and site procedures. The course covers calibration checks, monitoring processes, documentation requirements and communication protocols to maintain safe working conditions.
Through practical, hands-on training and real-world scenarios, participants develop the confidence to perform atmospheric testing accurately and responsibly, supporting safe work practices across high-risk industries.
