Description

This nationally recognised unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare for and safely operate an elevating work platform in operational roles. It covers interpreting work requirements and safety information, identifying hazards and implementing risk controls, conducting pre-start and operational checks, safely operating the platform and performing housekeeping tasks in line with workplace procedures and WHS standards. While this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work, it does not on its own provide a high-risk work licence; additional licensing may be required for specific equipment depending on jurisdiction and industry sector. Completion leads to a Statement of Attainment that supports safe EWP operation in construction, infrastructure and related workplaces.
