RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights

This course provides practical, hands on training that reflects real worksite conditions where working at height is required. You will learn how to identify height related hazards, assess risks and apply safe systems of work before starting any task.
You will develop skills in selecting and using fall protection equipment such as harnesses, lanyards and anchor points. Training also covers inspecting equipment, setting up safe work areas and following procedures that reduce the risk of falls and incidents on site.
Throughout the course, you will build confidence in planning and completing tasks at height while maintaining awareness of changing site conditions. You will also learn how to communicate effectively with team members to ensure safe coordination of work activities.
This unit supports employment across construction, maintenance, mining and industrial sectors. It is a key safety skill that improves job readiness and is often required for working on elevated structures and access equipment.

Entry requirements (Accredited)

To make the most of your YRT Accredited course, it’s essential to have the following skills:

  • Ability to understand and write English.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Participants must provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety boots, hard hat and a high visibility vest.
