RII20720 - Certificate II in Civil Construction

Course Overview
Description
The RII20720 Certificate II in Civil Construction is designed for individuals entering the civil and infrastructure industry who want hands-on skills that lead directly to employment. Whether working on roads, rail, subdivisions, pipelines or major infrastructure projects, this qualification prepares you for the realities of site-based work.
You’ll develop essential skills in working safely on construction sites, using tools and equipment, reading and interpreting plans, following site instructions, and contributing to earthworks and labouring activities. Strong emphasis is placed on WHS compliance, hazard identification, teamwork and effective communication — ensuring you understand how to operate safely and productively in high-risk environments.
Training blends structured theory with practical application, building real-world competence in areas such as traffic management support, concreting, trenching, site preparation and basic machinery awareness. This course is often the first step toward apprenticeships, plant operation, traffic control, road construction or further qualifications in civil construction.
